((I’m sorry I haven’t been on these past few days))

((I’ve been busy with a lot of different things. SAT II’s, my family, friends.

Also, I’ve been having trouble getting into Verdux recently…. Sigh.

Anyways, I’m not going to be on much tonight until later. Drop me an ask if we have a thread going. It’s hard for me to remember who had what.))

“How would you know the value of his kind.” She spat back, before she burst into flame, the fire spreading quickly along her body. Verdux sprang forwards to save himself from the blaze and grabbed the fire extinguisher from the wall and doused her. While he didn’t exactly think lighting her on fire was a good idea, he couldn’t provide one of his own so he didn’t remark on that.

As Steph threatened, he stood between them and just held his hands up. “Alright, maybe we should all just take a moment to calm down. Ladies… I suggest leaving, this mortal is in a very temperamental state and has empathy for me. Harming me, however little I care about the act, would probably lead to her burning you to the quick.” He counseled both sides, and the golden winged angel dragged her rival down the stairs. “I’ll come back for you. Just you wait. And the saucy human as well. I like her impudence.”

I’ll arrange your funeral procession in advance then.”

The two female Angels left and Steph pulled him back into the apartment. “Well they were lovely company … I guess this means that you were followed back to Earth, huh?” she asked, setting down the rubbing alcohol and gave him an incredulous look. “I was right, right? They can’t attack an innocent human like that without getting into trouble!” She groaned, sitting on the back of her couch, trying to get back on track with the conversation. “What are you going to do? I mean, this place isn’t a safe zone anymore. Are there any other options?”

“Somehow…” He groaned and rubbed his neck, he still had finger marks around his throat from when he was dragged out of the room. “I don’t know if its considered attacking, but that angel is definitely interested in you I suppose she thought that if she could seduce you it wouldn’t count… She isn’t that good at it…” Verdux gave her a concerned look and shut the door. He ran his hands through his hair and thought for a moment. “Its safer here than it is elsewhere. But I don’t want that angel coming back for you when I’m not here. And leaving means being on my own again. Which is a recipe for disaster. I don’t know what to do.” He put his head in his hands and gave a heavy sigh. There was no good way out of this.

..!” She gulped as she felt the cold metal against her neck, this was unfortunate… “I, I… Oh godsdamnit.” She huffed and took a seat for a moment. “He told you about the laws?! Augh!” She yelled in frustration at this slight. He was so going to get it when she got him alone. Just wait for it. “Fine. Fine. I’ll be going. But we keep the male.” She said as she walked out the door, tossing Steph like a rag doll away from her.

Verdux was pressed up against the hallway wall, wings spread and being held teasingly by the golden winged angel. She was reaching her hand down and around into his trousers when Stephanie walked out of the doorway, rubbing alcohol in hand.

“What are you doing out… What is that in your hand?!” She pulled him in front of her as a shield, Verdux grunted from the rough movement. “You toss that and he…” She realized how stupid that idea was. If the human did decide to throw anyways, they would both die. And there would be hell to pay for killing a male. They were valuable. Rare, like a fine delicacy. She decided bluffing was in order. “Gets burned to a crisp.”

Her expression didn’t waver as she replied in heavy sarcasm, “Oh, I’m sure that you could waste a perfectly good male Angel.” With that, she got some of the rubbing alcohol on one of the red Angel’s wings, hoping to slow down her flying later. The awful woman cried out as just the tips of her wings were burned and still Steph’s determinedly bitchy expression didn’t even flinch. She held out one of her hands and said to the female Angel holding Verdux, “Give me your arm so I can heal my arm with your blood and then the both of you leave us alone or so help me you both get doused in the face.”

“How would you know the value of his kind.” She spat back, before she burst into flame, the fire spreading quickly along her body. “A plant…” He quirked an eyebrow and chuckled. “I’m not going to get eaten by a plant. And neither are you if you I accompany you. I promise you that at the very least.” He said, a sharp toothed smile of his own flashing out from under the cowl of his cloak. His mouth was filled with serrated and shark-like teeth, he could probably tear one of them to shreds with just those. Assuming he felt like eating a salad. “Something wrong?” He asked, noticing the muscles in her neck and arms tense up when he mentioned the fact that he wasn’t human. “I hope I don’t frighten you…” He said with a worried tone. Perhaps he should have revealed his Angelhood later. Or sooner. He didn’t know which would have been better. Would she have received him at all if she knew? Would she feel like he had betrayed her if he hadn’t told her? “Do you know what an Angel is, by any chance?” He asked, tilting his head.

She chuckled. “I supposed I shouldn’t have just underestimated you. I usually have a slingshot with me, but I let the village kids borrow it today.” She glanced at his teeth, further reminding her of that Bulblin that had attacked her village. But the boy standing by her wasn’t big, green, and, well to put it bluntly, ugly. She blinked and shook her head, clearing her mind of the memories. “No, no,” she reassured quietly. “Angel?” she repeated thoughtfully. She closed her eyes trying to think. “I think…I think I’ve heard of them. I do not know much though.”

He actually was green. But that was beside the point. His green skin and hair would be a topic of conversation at a later date. “Thank you. If you need a weapon, I could lend you a sword. I’m never short on blades.” He said quietly, listening to the sounds of the forest as they walked. He was very careful to watch out for any of those plants she had mentioned. Not entirely certain what they looked like, he scanned the ground. “I’m an Angel. A Night Angel to be exact. I kill those who seek to harm the innocent or have already done so. I provide vengeance and peace of minds to the family of those who have been murdered, and eternal rest to those unfortunate souls who have been slain themselves. They tell me who did it. I find that person or monster, see if this is true, and then I kill it.

Do you want to see my wings? To be sure I’m not lying? I’m sure this is all a lot to take in at once. And I don’t expect you to believe everything I’m saying.”

She shook her head. “I’m not too handy with a sword, but thanks for the offer.” She listened to him carefully, wanting to make sure she caught everything. His claim was different to her. “So you…provide justice for the innocent? Sounds kinda lonely.” She found it odd that she was believing this and trusting him so easily. Maybe because in a strange way, she connected him with Link. Link wasn’t an angel per se, but fought for the innocent. She looked at him with avid curiosity. “Yes please! I mean…I would love to. If you don’t mind” she blushed a little out of embarrassment.

“You don’t have to be. Swords are swords, the fact that you are holding one in your hand instantly makes you less appetizing to anything that would want to eat you. Steel has that effect on monsters, or so I’ve found.” He said, offering the hilt of a shortsword to her, carefully holding the weapon by its black blade. “Its lonely on purpose, if I had time to make friends or have any type of romance in my life I would be far too distracted to be able to help others. It is lonely at times, but not too often do I have time to feel it.” He said, remembering the reason why he had become a Night Angel in the first place.

“Hold on.” He backed up a few paces and shrugged the cloak off of his wings and spread them. From tip to tip was somewhere around twenty-fourish feet. Each wing was a dark forest green and incredibly dull, the edges tinged with black. It was almost like they were absorbing light. Each wing was around twelve and a half feet long.

Another female Angel, this one a coppery gold entered and they switched to English. Pulling a switchblade from her sweatpants pocket that she had picked up before leaving her room this morning, Steph held it to the red Angel’s throat and said in an authoritative tone, “Verdux has taught me a thing or two about Angels, and one of them is that rutting season means you jump the male Angels, not humans. If you do this, you’re needlessly hurting an innocent being, harshly punishable by your law. Secondly, I also know that alcohol can kill you, and so help me, if you and your friend,” she said the word as if swearing.”-don’t leave us both right now, I’ll be filing a complaint over my bleeding arm and pleading self-defense after drenching you both in rubbing alcohol. Are we understood?” The red Angel looked furious, but released her with a shove, retreating to collect her friend. Just to be safe, Step ran to her bathroom and grabbed her large bottle of rubbing alcohol, going after them.

..!” She gulped as she felt the cold metal against her neck, this was unfortunate… “I, I… Oh godsdamnit.” She huffed and took a seat for a moment. “He told you about the laws?! Verdux winced invisibly as he saw her walk through the threshold after slapping Stephanie. Her eyes flashed crimson for a moment and she grinned with the same toothy smile that Stephanie had seen Verdux give on occasion, pointed and serrated teeth filling her mouth. “How cute, you’ve found a mortal willing to protect you. A pity she is so weak…” She said, walking over to Stephanie and giving her an interested and flirtatious smile, tipping the bat girl’s chin up to look her in the eyes. “Such beauty… Perhaps, if he will not show. You will be just as fun to have please me.” She was baiting him now, she knew altruism ran through him like lifeblood. It was eating him up inside not to help Stephanie, but at the same time he could not give up his hiding place, he had already frozen out of stress. If he didn’t come out soon, she would fulfill her promise and have her way with Steph… He just had to calm down and work out a solution to this problem. “Suit yourself then Ver~ I’ll find you later, I know you’re in here. Just know that I intend to give your friend a good time beforehand…” She smirked and caressed Stephanie’s body, forcing her by the arm towards the couch. This was bad.

The red Angel was making some sort of hissing sound Steph could not understand, realizing that this was probably the Angel language. Her eyes unconsciously pricked with tears at the slap and as she tried to scramble to her feet, the woman petted her in a way that made her skin crawl. She was was dragged over to the couch and and, try as she might, she couldn’t wrench her arm free. Remembering how sensitive their wings were, Steph went for a Hail Mary play and tore out a couple of feathers from the red Angel’s closest wing, a eliciting a cry from her. That only seemed to make her angrier as she grasped her arm again, this time harder.

Verdux couldn’t decide what would be a better option at this point. Kill her and risk getting reprimanded severely later on back on the Astral plane, or step in and submit himself in her place. He had to act quickly though, things were getting out of hand…

Werani cried out in agony for a moment, her precious plumage torn out carelessly by an impudent human wretch. She loosened her grasp only for a second, but when she dragged her again, her fingernails made marks on Steph’s skin because of their force.

At that exact moment, another Angel entered the room. This one with wings of a yellowish golden hue, and reddish auburn hair. She had a stern look on her face and Werani quickly paid notice. “Meylah, what are you doing here? I thought you said to-”

Hush Werani, I can smell him…. Something you should try harder to do. What can you possibly have with this mortal child?”

fun…”

“Have your fun then. I’m taking the male. And with that she grabbed Verdux by the throat and dragged him out the doorway, leaving Stephanie alone with the red winged Angel again.

You better be worth this…~” she said, playfully oogling Steph.

greeneyeddaughter:

angelic-vengeance:

He shrugged. “There’s always more to people than you could outwardly observe, for me. That is on purpose.” He had many more daggers and swords secreted away on his person, an Angel of Wrath would need to be armed at all times when on duty. Harder to kill deaders without them. Of course, that was another thing he wouldn’t let her in on until later. Deku-babas? If he knew what they were he would have laughed at the sentiment. He had fought the worlds hardened criminals for over eight hundred years, spent one thousand of his own life in hell and had killed more men than he could remember. A plant with teeth would not bother him, he was faster than it was if he had to be, and if all else failed, he would just burn it to cinders with the flames of wrath. “I’ll stay on my toes. What is a Deku-baba?” He wondered what sort of monstrous creature could easily eat a heavily armed and skilled warrior for a snack. It must be huge and breath fire or at least have poisonous spines and lightening quick speed.

He followed her and stopped when she stopped, wondering why she had. “Exactly that. I won’t need to eat for another few months. I’m not exactly human.”

“I’ll bet,” she raised an amused eyebrow at him and smiled. “A Deku-baba is a plant like thing that grows all over Hyrule. They’re carnivorous, and they have sharp teeth. They hide and are hard to see until you get close. They pop up when you do, and catch you off guard.  They’re really not all that dangerous or scary, unless you are small or unarmed…like me. Although… I can see you don’t have that problem. They’re also pretty easy to dodge, and none too bright, but the bite still hurts if it catches you.” she rubbed her upper arm. She had actually had a run-in with one a few weeks ago. It had latched onto her arm before she could react and the wounds at left teeth-mark like scars.

His answer to her question caused her to subconsciously tense. She had had her run-in with non-humans and they were not pleasant. She forced herself to calm. Verdux had been kind. She had no reason not to trust him. Not to mention, he wasn’t from Hyrule. She felt kind of stupid for just assuming. She replied to his answer with a quiet, “Oh.”

“A plant…” He quirked an eyebrow and chuckled. “I’m not going to get eaten by a plant. And neither are you if you I accompany you. I promise you that at the very least.” He said, a sharp toothed smile of his own flashing out from under the cowl of his cloak.
